A report claimed that on Tuesday, two wrist watches worth Rs. 5 crore were taken from Hardik Pandya at Mumbai Airport following his return from Dubai, but Hardik Pandya said only one watch had been taken for a “proper valuation”.
Following his arrival from Dubai, Pandya surrendered the watches at the airport. As with other Indian players, Pandya was returning home after India crashed out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup group stage.
As many as four luxury watches belonging to his brother, cricketer Krunal Pandya, were not declared to customs at the Mumbai airport last year. It is reported that Mumbai Indians’ star had no clue about the declaration procedure and Customs duty.
Despite being dropped for the home T20I series against New Zealand, Hardik Pandya will have to perform well in domestic cricket to earn a place back on the team. The T20 World Cup 2021 began with two warm-up games featuring Hardik Pandya as a specialist batsman. Pakistan won the match by 10 wickets despite Hardik not bowling. With Hardik at the crease for the second time, he managed only 11 runs with the bat. Now let’s see what awaits Pandya in this unexpected seizure of his watch at the airport by customs!
