Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 16 runs against Delhi Capitals in the Wakhande Stadium, Mumbai, securing their fourth victory of the season, helping them climb the 3rd spot in the IPL 2022 points table. RCB set a target of 190 to win for DC, while batting first. Delhi, unfortunately, was restricted at 173/7. Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell scored marvellous fifties for Bangalore while David Warner did the same for Delhi.
Delhi Capitals chose to bowl after captain Rishabh Pant won the toss. They debuted Mitchell Marsh, who replaced Sarfaraz Khan while Harshal Patel was back to RCB instead of Akash Deep. Currently Delhi Capitals have won two and lost two matches up until now, while Royal Challengers Bangalore are on three victories and two defeats from their last five matches, after being defeated by Chennai Super Kings previously, Bangalore has high expectations of Harshal Patel, in hopes that he will help them bring themselves back on track.
The batting duo, Du Plessis and left-hander Anuj Rawat have given Bangalore a strong headstart while Dinesh Karthik finished off well along with Shahbaz Ahmed, who managed to show us an impressive batting. Former skipper Virat Kohli had 40 plus scores to his credits, although he lacked consistency.
Royal Challengers win by 16 runs- having 10 runs from the final over, bowled by Harshal Patel as Delhi Capitals manage to score a 173/7 in 20 overs, promoting themselves to the third spot in the IPL 2022 standings.
That brings us to the 27th match of the season, with Royal Challengers Bangalore back in form for the playoffs, gaining their fourth victory among the six games so far. However, Delhi Capitals suffered their third loss in the season hoping to change the scenario soon. Dinesh Karthik gets Player of the Match for an unfaltering 66 off 34.
Since both the teams are now bracing themselves to recover from their previous and now losses, the season is about to get all the more interesting with anticipation.
