GT vs CSK: India’s biggest Cricket carnival is back. Locking horns first is the Master and his apprentice as MS Dhoni takes on Hardik Pandya in Ahmedabad. In what could be his last season, MS Dhoni alone could attract a huge crowd in a stadium which can hold up to 1.5 lakh people. Coming to performances though, CSK and GT were on opposite ends last season. CSK finished second last while GT were champions in their first season, leaving CSK with a lot of catching up to do this season.

Dry weather and a lot of heat are expected while dew could also play a role as the game progresses.
The Ahmedabad track looks a flatter, and runs could come easy especially in the second half of the innings.

Gaikwad has a terrible habit of starting tournaments slowly. His returns in the first four to five games are normally poor, and with the ball swinging he tends to struggle all the more. Given CSK’s struggles last season, Gaikwad will have to step up early given the value he provides to the batting line-up, and his success against spin bowlers.
Shubman Gill is going through a really strong purple patch. Runs are coming well, he is getting off to solid starts and and Gujarat will rely on him to get them off to a strong start this season.

Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Mohammad Shami: Gujarat’s most skilled bowler has the edge over Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK’s pillar with the bat. In nine encounters, Gaikwad was dismissed eight times, scoring at a rate of 16 odd per wicket. With Gaikwad a slow starter against swing, Mohammad Shami will be key up front.
The defending champs have a solid unit and a really good bowling line-up. The Chennai Super Kings though are off to a fresh start and with MS Dhoni back at the helm from the start this time, CSK could create some surprises early.
