India and Australia complete their ODI series on Wednesday afternoon in Chennai. With the score at 1-1, a win for either team will see them secure the series. India won the opening ODI by five wickets before Australia won by 10 wickets on Sunday. India were very poor in the second ODI and must find a way to stop Mitchell Starc in this game. However, they have plenty of brilliant players and they should have enough talent to get the victory. Australia have shown plenty of character on this tour after coming back in the Test and ODI series. They need to put in another top display in this match to emerge with a series win.

The surface in Chennai always does something for the spinners but with the overhead conditions we expect the pace bowlers to also enjoy bowling in this game. A par score will be 250+.

This ODI promises to be a very interesting contest with both India and Australia keen to put down a marker ahead of the World Cup later in the year. India has a huge job to turn itself around after being thrashed in Vizag but certainly has the players to do it. Our prediction is for a very close final ODI with Michell Starc again causing problems for India’s top order. But overall, we are backing India’s players to have enough quality to win the fixture. Considering the team combination, India is expected to win this match.
