Former India skipper Mithali Raj posted pictures via social media in conventional clothing, holding the Tricolor and expressed, “Our flag is our pride! The tricolour flying high is a sight that fills the heart of every Indian with joy. Hoisted the Tiranga at my residence today. #HarGharTiranga #AmritMahotsav.”

Cricket symbol Sachin Tendulkar posted a video showing him raising the Tricolor at his home and expressed, “Dil mein bhi Tiranga, ghar par bhi Tiranga.”

Shikhar Dhawan, who is driving the side in the three-match One-day International series against Zimbabwe starting August 18, tweeted his desires to the country with a brief video, while former India chief Virat Kohli expressed, 

 “75 glorious years. Proud to be an Indian. Happy Independence Day to all. Jai Hind.”

Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman tweeted, 

“May the glory of our Nation live forever! Wishing love, peace and prosperity to everyone on the occasion of Independence Day. Proud to be an Indian. Jai Hind!”
