RR vs KKR: Two teams on six points and with strong starts are now looking to fightback after a defeat. Both teams have an explosive batting ine-up and a strong new-ball attack. The struggle though is in the same aspect. Both teams are not bowling too well in the death and the side that goes better in the end overs stage is likely to win the game.
Spin can play a huge role in the game as both sides have some incredible spinners. With Ashwin, Chahal, Chakravarthy and Narine, both teams boast some of the best spinners in this season. The middle-overs will be crucial as both teams rely on a choke in that stage while bowling.
Match: RR vs KKR
Date: 18th April 2022
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai
The weather is clear with minimal cloud cover and a warm evening is expected during the RR vs KKR game.
The surface has been good for batting but with the tournament rolling on there may be some wear on the pitch, bringing spin into play.
Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (capt & wk), Rassie van der Dussen, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, James Neesham/Trent Boult, R Ashwin, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen.
Venkatesh Iyer, Aaron Finch, Shreyas Iyer (capt), Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Aman Khan, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy.
Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer is struggling for runs. Last season he gave KKR some solid starts, batted with ease, and timed the ball beautifully upfront. This year, the fluency and consistency have been a little off. He is a talented player and with KKR struggling up front, Iyer returning to form can be a nice boost for the side.
PrasIdh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna has done a fair job this season with the new ball. He is bowling with a good pace, finding nice bounce, and is very skiddy, making things tough for batters. His death bowling has been a little inconsistent, but as an overall package, Krishna is a player who can easily threaten to take wickets on a regular basis.
Both teams are coming in off losses but KKR is in with a slight disadvantage as their batting hasn’t looked too solid. RR, on the other hand, is looking good with the bat and the bowlers are also doing a fair job through the game.
Match Prediction: RR will win the match.
