IPL 2022 is moving on nicely and there has already been some incredible talent so far this season. While experienced heads like Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami are doing a fine job to keep themselves in the reckoning, there has been some new and young fast bowlers who are grabbing the spotlight. Fast bowling in general is an eye-catching art, and to see certain bowlers breach the 145+ mark with ease is very attractive.
40 odd games into the season, there have been three bowlers who have impressed with regards to the speed gun and there control, and early indications suggest that they have a wonderful future ahead of them as exciting pacers this season. These bowlers are already getting batters worried, and are among the wickets in IPL 2022.
The young pacer from Lucknow Super Giants is having a wonderful time bowling along side a young bowling attack. In four games in IPL 2022 the young quick has eight wickets, and a man-of-the-match award. He isn’t as fast as the likes of Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik, but can touch speeds in the 140s and also swings the ball well.
An interesting feature in his bowling is the angle he creates. As Mohsin Khan is a left-arm seamer, he naturally has a unique angle and that is making a difference with Khan generating nice movement and pace. He is turning out to be the trump card of the Lucknow Super Giants and has recently outfoxed Rishabh Pant with a beauty to put himself on the map in IPL 2022.
Rajasthan Royals have a knack of discovering young talents. They had Kartik Tyagi in the previous season, and in IPL 2022 they have found Kuldeep Sen. The fact that Sen has made an impact in a line-up consisting of Trent Boult, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal alone speaks volumes about his performance this year.
He is the fastest in the team and Jos Buttler himself stated that Kuldeep Sen is a bowler he wouldn’t like to face in the nets given his high pace. The young pacer is touching the late 140s with ease and may breach the 150 mark sometime later on in this tournament. He has a smooth action an has one the award for fastest ball in the match on a couple of occasions as well.
With seven wickets in four games, Kuldeep Sen has started IPL 2022 nicely and is showing signs of a long career. He is turning out to be a valuable buy for the Rajasthan Royals and his ability to bowl in the death makes him an asset, giving Rajasthan the luxury of using Trent Boult’s overs up front, where Boult is at his best.

Pace is always exciting to watch and Umran Malik is proving why. He along with Lockie Ferguson are competing for the fastest ball, and Umran Malik is leading the race after touching speeds of 154 in his recent game.
The bowler from Jammu is enjoying a wonderful tournament. Last season he came in as a replacement for Natarajan and impressed immediately with his pace but was questioned for his control. His pace still allowed him to stay in Dubai as a net bowler for the Indian team and Malik eventually worked on his control as shown in IPL 2022.
He has been retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, a side that normally develops wonderful pacers, especially with Dale Steyn in the dugout. In nine games, the pacer has taken 15 wickets and has some eye-grabbing stats this season. He took four wickets and bowled a maiden in the final over against Punjab, and took all five wickets against Gujarat Titans to almost win them the game single-handedly.
His yorkers this season have been deadly and on point, and there are already calls for Umran Malik to be thrown in to the deep end with a spot in the Indian team. With his ability to touch 150 with ease, the pacer stands a wonderful chance of making the national side soon, and he is on the express way to success with his express pace.
