The final two league games in the ongoing IPL 2021 that were scheduled on October 8, are set to be played simultaneously. The initial schedule has Hyderabad taking on Mumbai in Abu Dhabi commencing at 3:30 PM IST. It is now all set to be played alongside RCB vs DC in Dubai at 07:30 PM IST. The decision was taken at the IPL Governing Council meeting on Tuesday.

The BCCI on Tuesday (September 28) stated that, – “In a first for the IPL, the last two league matches before the VIVO IPL 2021 Playoffs will be played concurrently. On the last day of the league stage of the ongoing season, instead of having one afternoon match and one evening match, both the matches (SRH vs MI and RCB vs DC) will be played at the same time starting off at 7.30 PM IST.” It is also believed that the Government Council had come with the decision of appointing two new IPL teams on October 25, that will be part of the tournament from the 2022 edition onwards.

The reason behind the board’s decision to fix the two matches is still unknown. Fingers crossed! However, one thing is sure that, this time there will be double excitement among all cricket lovers as they get to witness action-packed battles between the four teams at the same time. Stay tuned!
