The Mega IPL Auction 2022 is well underway in Bengaluru with franchises splurging eye-popping money on T20 stars from around the globe. Few have lived up to the billing while there are others who have surprised everyone with the interest the teams have shown in them and the amount they’re willing to spend to secure their services. Shreyas Iyer, part of marquee players, who was the costliest pick having been purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders for a cool Rs 12.75 crore, was later trumped by Ishan Kishan who was purchased by Mumbai Indians for a record Rs 15.25 crore.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have been one of the perennial underachievers of the Indian Premier League and have boasted of a strong, squad over the years, still, they are yet to win a title. The closest they came was in 2020 when they entered the final for the first time only to finish as the runners-up. IPL 2022 mega auction has provided them with a fresh start to rebuild their squad and hope it will result in their first-ever title win.

IPL 2022 mega auction presents them with a chance to start afresh. They retained Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal last year and released the remaining members of their squad.
