Netherlands vs West Indies: The IPL hangover has barely died down but the West Indies, an integral contingent of players for the IPL, are on to their next international assignment. They have a busy schedule up front with a series against the Netherlands and then a tour to Pakistan. The side is very experienced with Nicholas Pooran taking over as full-time skipper for the first time, after Kieron Pollard’s retirement.
Netherlands will be pleased to see a decent side touring them and will be hoping to make an impact. With an inexperienced opposition, Netherlands may feel this is their best chance to win a series against a World Champion team and will be giving it their best.
Match: Netherlands vs West Indies
Date: 31st May 2022
Time: 2:30 PM IST
Venue: VRA Ground, Amsterveel
The weather is expected to be decent with mild chances of rain during the Netherlands vs West Indies game.
The Amsterveel ground hasn’t hosted an international game in a while. With less knowledge on the behaviour of the pitch batting second may be a better option.
Pieter Seelaar (c), Bas de Leede, Max O Dowd, Fred Klassen, Scott Edwards (wk), Tony Staal, Shariz Ahmed, Logan Van Beek, Vivian Knigma, Phillippe Boissevain, Teja Nidamanuru
Brandon King, Shai Hope, Shamarh Brooks, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran (c,wk), Rovman Powell, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hossain, Hayden Walsh
West Indies will be without Shimron Hetmyer and the availability of Alzarri Joseph is still uncertain.
Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran will be starting a new chapter in his career as he takes over as full-time captain. As a leader he has his work cutout for him with West Indies looking to do better in the World Cup this time around. He is a magnificent talent and did well in the IPL, and will be looking forward to carry his form into this game.
Pieter Seelaar
Pieter Seelaar is one of the more high-profile names in the Netherlands line-up. He is a wonderful player and while facing a big side he will be key, as he hopes to help his team win against the West Indies.
Although the West Indies side is short on experience, it will be tough for the Netherlands team to get past them, leaving a West Indies win the most likely result.
Match Prediction: West Indies will win the match.
