Rohit Sharma would make an excellent test captain: Wasim Jaffer

He has been hailed by former India batter Wasim Jaffer as a better Test leader than Virat Kohli after an unbeaten run in the recently-concluded home season for Team India. Team India won 14 straight matches in all formats across its entire home season, without losing a single match. The recent two-match Test series between Team India and Sri Lanka ended in a 2-0 victory for Team India.

Indian cricket moved up to the fourth position in the World Test Championship standings thanks to this victory over Sri Lanka. The next Test in the longest format will be played in July this year between India and England, the end of the series that was slated for the end of last season. ”It is possible for him to be better than Kohli. He won’t captain many Tests, but tactically he is one of the best captains and we have seen the results as he has led them to whitewash each series. I feel he is the right man for the captaincy, ” stated Jaffer during a recent interaction with the press.

”The new Test captain was appointed earlier this year, replacing Kohli, who stood down following the South Africa tour. Rohit was a model of calm in the Test series against Sri Lanka, as Team India was easily able to defeat their opponents, ”concluded Jaffer. As soon as the Indian Premier League (IPL) begins, the Hitman will be on the field for the Mumbai Indians. Their season begins on March 27 against the Delhi Capitals.
