West Indies are with a chance of a rare series win in South Africa as Shai Hope thumped Temba Bavuma with both openers setting up interesting games with centuries up front. South Africa are now in a lot more trouble as their bid for qualifying for the World Cup gets more challenging.
Date: March 21st, 2023
Time: 1:30 PM IST
Venue: Potchefstroom
The weather remains a concern with rain still on the forecast.
A flat track full of runs is expected.
Played- 63 | South Africa – 44 | West Indies- 16 | No Result- 2 | Tie- 1
Reeza Hendricks, Quinton De Kock, Temba Bavuma, Rassie Van Der Dussen, Tristan Stubbs, Ryan Rickleton, Andile Phehlukwayo, Wiaan Mulder, Sisanda Magala, Lungi Ngidi, Lizaad Williams
Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Shai Hope, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Holder, Roston Chase, Rovmann Powell, Odean Smith, Akeal Hossein, Romario Shepherd, Shannon Gabriel
Pooran’s form has been a concern and now he comes in as a player after stepping down from captaincy. He is a part of a West Indies line-up which is full of firepower as they bat super deep, allowing Pooran o play the way he is known to play, with a lot more freedom around him.
After some fitness struggles Sisanda Magala has made himself heard. He now looks a lot tougher to leave out as he consistently picks up wickets, and looks very promising, which has also allowed him to earn a central contract.
West Indies won the first ODI but with South Africa eager to secure some crucial points and dissapointed with the loss they will look to fight back here.
