Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are taking each other on in the 5th match of the Asia Cup. The SL vs BAN fixture is an important one as it determines which side goes to the next round and which one goes home. With both sides looking at the T20 World Cup, the fixture will help one stay inside and give them confidence in their team. SL though have a lot of work ahead. They were hammered by Afghanistan. The bowling failed as the openers raced to the target and the batters struggled, collapsing early.
Bangladesh though are in with some work as well. They are playing with a new captain. The team has a poor T20 record in recent times and are still looking for their strongest side. There is a lot of work on hand and it will be interesting to see if they can fight back with a new captain.

The evening is nice warm and clear for the SL vs BAN fixture.
The Dubai track has been helpful for bowlers. There is turn and bounce and with long boundaries batting is not easy. Dew has not been much of a factor yet and batting first could be a better option with the current conditions.
Mohammad Naim, Anamul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraj, Mahadi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed
Danushka Gunathilaka, Pattum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Kusal Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Dhananjaya De Silva, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Matheesha Pathirana, Chamika Karunaratne
The top-order collapsed in the first game and there will now be a lot of pressure on the top three. Charith Asalanka in particular is seen as a talent for Sri Lanka. He has some good numbers to his name but needs to back them up with his steady and batting. If he can manage to find some runs it will help SL who have a decent bowling attack.
Mushfiqur Rahim is a pretty experienced campaigner. With Shakib Al Hasan leading again it will be interesting to see Rahim’s role. He knows his role well an can be pretty flexible but may be given a bigger job with the bat as Bangladesh look to strengthen their batting line-up

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are coming off some tough results. Sri Lanka’s overall form and bowling attack are better though while the batting line-up is talent. They had an off day against Afghanistan but still look very solid.
