South Africa Vs Bangladesh: Bangladesh celebrated a landmark win and are moving forward nicely in 2022. They beat New Zealand in a Test in New Zealand and have finally won an ODI in South Africa. While the win was a pleasure, Bangladesh will be happy to know that they are only one more win away from a historic series win overseas. They came to South Africa without an ODI win in the nation and will be thrilled to go back with a series win in South Africa.
The team put up some brilliant performances with Yasir Ali and Taskin Ahmed making key contributions. After all the chaos, Shakib Al Hasan did well to prove that performance is the best way to clear any sort of issue in and around a team.
For South Africa, the upcoming game is a must-win game. They struggled in the first game with bowling changes and strike-rotation. There were some good performances from Rassie Van Der Dussen and David Miller, but it wasn’t enough to take South Africa home.
Match: South Africa Vs Bangladesh
Date: 19th March 2022
Time: 20th March 2022
Venue: Johannesburg
The weather for South Africa Vs Bangladesh appears to be clear and there will be no weather disturbance.
The surface is flat, and the last few games have seen big scores at the venue. Batting first is where the pitch is at its best and the team batting first will have a huge advantage.
1 Kyle Verreynne (wk), 2 Janneman Malan, 3 Temba Bavuma (capt), 4 Aiden Markram, 5 Rassie van der Dussen, 6 David Miller, 7 Andile Phehlukwayo, 8 Marco Jansen, 9 Kagiso Rabada, 10 Keshav Maharaj, 11 Lungi Ngidi
1 Tamim Iqbal (capt), 2 Litton Das, 3 Shakib Al Hasan, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Yasir Ali, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Taskin Ahmed, 10 Shoriful Islam, 11 Mustafizur Rahman
Rassie Van Der Dussen
Ever since Ab De Villiers announced his retirement, South Africa had a silent but dependable replacement in Rassie Van Der Dussen. Der Dussen took De Villiers spot and is batting with insane consistency. After 33 ODIs his average is still 75, and he is finding runs with ease, while accelerating at a swift pace.
Taskin Ahmed
Taskin Ahmed maintained a tight few spells and was tough to get away at Centurion. He bowled well, and fast, and is a key factor behind the win as he maintained a strong economic rate.
While Bangladesh won the first ODI, the benefit of a home game still gives South Africa the edge. South Africa are a top team and have some wonderful records in recent ODIs, and will be tough to get past for the second time in a row.
Match Prediction: South Africa will win the match.
