Suryakumar storms the internet with his epic response to a comparison between Michael Bevan and him in a presser

During Tuesday’s pre-match press conference ahead of India’s second ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav came up with an epic response to a journalist’s question on comparisons with Michael Bevan.

According to Suryakumar on Tuesday, few have compared him to Australian great Michael Bevan because of his ability to finish games, which he exhibited in the first ODI, where he scored an unbeaten 36 from 36 balls and stitched a 62-run partnership with Deepak Hooda. While Suryakumar has only played 16 matches for India, Suryakumar made his international debut in a T20I series against England in March 2021. The 26-year-old has scored 197 runs at 65.67, including one half-century, in five One-Day Internationals, while he has amassed 244 runs at 155.51, including three half-centuries, in 11 Twenty20 Internationals. Middle-order batsman Shane Watson also admitted he can bat at any position in an Indian line-up.

“Let me be Suryakumar Yadav, please,” replied the 31-year-old in a hilarious reply. My country still requires me to play. I have hardly played five or seven matches for my country. As long as I am batting for my team, I will do my best to win games. The same thing will happen – I’ll express myself and be fearless like I always am,” he stated further.
