Dhoni sets new record in CSK, win over SRH. Chennai Super Kings qualified for the playoffs of the IPL 2021 with a six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 44th match of the tournament at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday with Dhoni making a striking impact.
“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence”. This suits best for Chennai Super Kings as they qualified for the playoffs of the IPL 2021 with a six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 44th match of the tournament at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday with Dhoni making a striking impact yesterday. Afterall, Dhoni is Dhoni!
After yesterday’s performance, every social media handle flooded with twitter, instagram and facebook posts of Thala. Three-time champions Chennai Super Kings became the only team to qualify for the quarters.
With a run chase of 135, CSK reached the target with two balls in hand. With 18 points from 11 matches, Chennai retained their top position in points table while Hyderabad were now eliminated from IPL 2021. Opening batsmen Gaikwad and du Plessis got Chennai off to a sparkling start, adding 75 runs in the first ten overs. With a requirement of 22 runs off 18 balls, Rayudu kicked off Siddharth Kaul over extra cover.
In one of the following overs, Rayudu launched Kumar for a six over long-on.Followed by Dhoni’s crunching four calmed the nerves in the yellow army. Dhoni finished off the chase with a huge maximum over deep mid-wicket off Kaul in the final over to seal a playoff spot for his team.
Siddarth Kaul started off with a good bouncer, Rayudu then took a single. With Dhoni on strike, two needed from four balls. Dhoni restricted himself without taking any run in the fourth ball. With two runs needed from three balls, Sid Kaul comes round the wicket and Dhoni finishes it off in style with what you call a photo finish shot that changed the equation.
With a super spell of 3/24 , Josh Hazelwood is Man of the Match taking wickets of Jason Roy, Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad.
Yellow army is in magnificent form now and we are expecting a win in 2021 IPL!
