West Indies take on Zimbabwe at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Wednesday evening in Match 6 of the 2022 T20 World Cup. West Indies suffered a shock defeat by 42 runs to Scotland on Monday. Zimbabwe got off to a winning start by beating Ireland by 31 runs in their opening fixture. West Indies have been an inconsistent side in this format over the last 12 months. If their top order batters can produce a big score then they will be very competitive. Zimbabwe are in excellent form in IT20s but have not tested themselves against the better teams for a couple of years. This match will be a good indicator of how good they have become.

Warm afternoon sunshine will give way to clear skies on Wednesday evening with the temperature dropping from 17 degrees to 13. It is a good surface in Hobart and a total of around 170 is par. At the same time, there is something for the pace and spin bowlers on this pitch.

This should be an excellent contest with Zimbabwe’s confidence very high after recent results and West Indies determined to stay in the tournament. It could be decided by one big individual innings. West Indies put in one of their worst performances ever in a T20 World Cup on Monday and we expect them to produce something a lot more professional in this game. Zimbabwe will push them all the way but we predict that West Indies will win this match. Considering the team combination, West Indies is expected to win this match.
